VenuesDue solely to the refurbishment of our normal home, the Pavilion Ballroom, Laxey Glen Gardens, you will note that this year’s Festival will be held in the Villa Marina complex in Douglas. This is simply because we couldn’t be sure that the Pavilion’s refurbishment would be completed in time for our events. We are most grateful to the Department of Community Culture and Leisure for stepping in to the breach and allowing us to use the Villa and its gardens for this year’s Festival!

A little bit about our normal home - LaxeyAs the songs says.. ‘Laxey
was a mining village many years ago…’and before that it was a
fishing village. The name comes from the Vikings who obviously must
have found salmon in the river running down to the coast below their
‘snow mountain’. Now it is a great place to live and work with a
thriving community, primary school, businesses and pubs,
restaurants, cafes and take-aways. See Laxey Commissioners web site
