Mr Riff is something of an icon down at The Shore Hotel where he has appeared
at every Festival on the
Acoustic Stage - except for the first one.
Mr Riff celebrates Bushyfest's 5th anniversary at The Shore in 2003
|
His repertoire is entirely original and is perhaps best described as good-time
boogie. Whilst some of his songs are hilarious Mr Riff takes his music very
seriously and loves performing in front of a crowd.
In 2003 he hosted the 5th Anniversary party of the Festival at the Shore
(pictured right) and filled a good few glasses of champagne - courtesy of Paul
of the Shore and as always a good time was had by all. You may be interested to
know that his CD's usually outsell every other artiste...
Mr Riff has appeared at the Festival in the years since to his usal very
appreciative and proactive audiences who get into the Riff spirit and whose
warmth for his eccentricities create an instantly enjoyable atmosphere.
In 2006 a DVD will be released of his performances at the 2005 Festival and
this can be previewed in full, free, at his website by clicking
here.
It is well worth a look and contains footage of not only Mr Riff but also of
the sights and sounds of the Festival around Laxey Village as well as some of
the outstanding local landmarks including the
Laxey Wheel
itself.
