THE G.A.S.P ANTHOLOGY formed in 1983 in Liverpool as a Doo-wop R'nB outfit with
8 members, rehearsing in a cellar a stone's throw from Anfield football
ground.
In the summer of '84 family connections and a love of the island from early
70's holidays in the tropical fishing village of Peel, encouraged 3 members of
the band to embark on a tour of virtually all the boozers and hotels on the
Isle of Man.
The band's reputation swiftly grew but as time has passed the line-up has
changed, but always forming around the ever present Steve Parry whose
influences range through Reggae, Blues, R'n B, Soul and
Rock and are reflected in the band's repertoire. Such is the continuing quality
of their
musicianship that they remain the local band of choice to support big name
artists who visit the island. These include:
Meatloaf, Dr Feelgood, The Steve
Gibbons Band, Toploader, Fun Lovin' Criminals, China Crisis
and
Glenn Tilbrook.
A very impressive musical track record indeed.
Of course the G.A.S.P. have not only played on the Island they have also been
seen in
Germany, Brittany and Portugal…oh, and let's not forget the famous Cavern Club
in Liverpool which has also echoed to the sound of The G.A.S.P. We could go on
and on blowing their proverbial trumpet but take it from me the G.A.S.P are the
business; they can rock the place upsidedown or just take your er... breath
away, with the sheer quality of their playing and singing .
The G.A.S.P. are:
Lead vocal/acoustic & electric guitar...
STEVE PARRY
Bass guitar/harmony vocals…..…….…
PAUL KINRADE
Drums….......................................….
JON PEACOCK
Lead guitar/noises…………….......…..
