String Theory
are the combined musical talents of two extraordinary musicians:
Roland Chadwick
made his Sydney Opera House debut in 1988 and has since built a
reputation as Australia’s master Guitarist/Composer.
“A damned fine Guitarist”
said the Guardian. Since arriving in London in 1998 he has pursued a busy
recording career with the likes of the
English Chamber Orchestra
,
Mike Lindup
(Level 42),
Lesley Garret
,
Barriemore Barlow (Jethro Tull)
,
John Renbourn
, to name a few. He has performed live with Tommy Emmanuel, the Royal Liverpool
Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Apart from a very
busy solo career he is the driving force behind the Modern Guitar Trio (with
Roland Gallery and Vincent Lindsey Clark), Native Tung (with Barriemore Barlow
and Phil Saatchi) and the Blue Healers (with Graham Pike).
Roland is a classically trained guitar virtuoso. These words are bandied about
willy nilly but Roland is the real deal, a musician of the very highest calibre
and he brings these qualities to his "21st Century" blues in a way that will
have the most sensitive enthusiast and knowledgeable blues musicologist stunned
by his amazing art. This is jawdroppingly good stuff.
Michael Berk
has been stunning audiences around the UK for more than 10 years - London's
famous 12 Bar Club calls him " one of the few truly gifted acoustic guitar
players around… a true virtuoso".
Born on 23 March 1981, Michael began playing at the age of 6 using his mother's
old guitar and a Beatles songbook. By the time he was 11, he was playing
professionally. Since then, Michael has performed around the world and is a
regular session guitarist for several well known London-based producers.
Yet it has only been over the past 2 years that he has received recognition for
his own music, causing one leading promotion company to refer to him as "the
greatest exponent of acoustic guitar on the live scene… not for the faint of
heart!" (taken from Up All Night magazine last year).
Michael has recently returned from the United States having performed in New
Orleans, Memphis, Nashville and New York.
