Sarah Mitchell
and
John Cowley
will be making their fourth consecutive appearance at the Blues Festival in 2004. On her debut Sarah was described by the late
Joshua T Whalebone
as "probably the best blues voice in the Isle of Man". She is backed by John
on guitar but, unfortunately, the best accolade that John has ever managed to
get from the Whalebone was "steady".
Dubious Origin will be playing two sets at the Queen's in 2004 rather than
their usual one. This is mainly in the hope that
John Barker
will actually see them this year and include them in his review instead of
going home for his lunch. He missed a cracking set last year and did have the
decency, however, to say that he "believed they were great" (just joshing, John
- great job on the write-up. See
Queens Electric Stage 2003 Gig Report
to see for your self).
As always John and Sarah will be soliciting some help and in 2004 will be
ably assisted by
Wes Bolton
on keyboards and
Father Fagin
on harmonica. Also appearing with them in 2004 will be
Linda "Little Miss Dynamite" Myer
and so you will be getting not just one fine female vocalist but two.
The band present a wide range of styles from bluesy ballads to songs to get you
dancing on the tables. Don't miss them!
