Festival Organiser to retire
12th March 2005
Chris in 2003 at the Iron Pier
|
Chris Lefevre announced today that he is to retire from the Festival front
line after the 2005 event.
He has been involved in the Festival from the beginning helping Paul Phillips
(landlord of The Shore Hotel) and Dave Ashton build up the Acoustic Stage at
The Shore from a small PA set up in the corner of the car park to the huge
event that it has now become.
After the 2002 event he reluctantly took over the Festival Organiser's role and
the years since have seen the Festival grow into an event that no one back in
1999 thought possible.
Without the help of the Fest Sponsors, all the volunteers who help to organise
and run the event, the wonderful musicians who give their time, skill and
energy to the Festival, almost all of whom do not get paid, and Dave Wade who
thought of the idea and set up the Festival, Chris acknowledges that it would
not and could not have happened in the way that it has.
He is now to spend more time communing with nature and studying the stars...far
out, man.
