Blues Club Theft
31st March 2005
Geof Achison
|
The very well known Bottleneck Blues Club host to some of the finest
contemporary blues artistes playing around the world today was the victim of
some mean-minded, greedy little simpleton's thieving ways when 300 quid was
stolen from the Club's cash box this week
During one of the best gigs of the year - Geoff Achison and The Souldiggers -
the club was packed with members and guests when the cash went missing. John
Adams, proprietor and highly respected Blues Promoter, impresario and producer
said "only one thing soured last night for me.....unfortunately someone nicked
over £300 from the cash box.....thankfully I had money with me which enabled me to
pay everybody but what a shame". He went on to say "My fault.....I must be more
careful". To accept this so philosophically is yet another sign of these times that we
now live in when the victim of crime, not the perpetrator, accepts the loss as
his fault. What kind of justice is that?
