2005 Festival NOT In Jeopardy
28th April 2005
The Festival is not in any kind of jeopardy as a result of the Riverside Music
Room Venue losing it's licence. There are 6 other venues that are all properly
licenced, have a full
Programme
of live music and are raring to go on the weekend of 13th May!
Much is being done to find a replacement for the Riverside and real progress is
being made. We have a willing licencee to stand in, a good venue, and just
enough time to make a licence application. It is crucial that we investigate
and discuss every aspect of this so as to be as certain as we can be, that we
do not
overlook any vital details when we make our applications. Which is why no
details will be released until the licence application is lodged on Friday 29th
April next - 24 hours.
We have the support of the Laxey Commissioners, which is obviously important
to us,
and the Police have been very encouraging. We are therefore cautiously
optimistic that The 2005 Main Stage Programme will go ahead in Laxey as planned
- but in a different Venue.
The rest of the Festival is going ahead, unaltered
and absolutely to plan.
