Main Stage Latest...
30th April 2005
Although it must be stressed that it is
subject to a formal licence application
made yesterday, I am delighted to announce that The 2005 Bushy's Big Wheel
Blues
Festival Main Stage will be in the Blues Marquee in Laxey Station.
Following the sudden and, for us, unexpected revocation of Matthew Hamilton's
licence at the Riverside (our original venue for the Main Stage) we have been
very encouraged by the support of the Laxey Commissioners and the Police who
have been so positive as we faced this sudden and, through no fault of our
own, late, forced, change of plan.
Our sponsors without all of whom we could not be going forward in such an
expectant, albeit cautious, frame of mind have been hugely helpful. Special
acknowlegement must go to
Martin Brunnschweiler of Bushy's
who has gone more than the extra mile for us
and to
Derek Black-Kay,
Licencee of the The Bridge Inn in Laxey, who has stepped in at this late
stage to make the necessary licence appliications.
The application is now in the hands of the Court and obviously we will
be guided by them but we are now cautiously optimistic that the Main Stage will
have a bar, a stage, a quality PA and a good crowd for a wonderful weekend of
live music.
Please note that all the other venues are unaffected by this licence
application and are going ahead as planned.
