Vintage & New Guitar Show - Cumbria
13th August 2006
Rheged Visitor & Exhibition Centre - Cumbria
|
On the 27th and 28th August next is the Penrith
Vintage and New Guitar Show
held in the Rheged Centre. A great event is lined up with plenty of Guitars and
Amps and all sorts
of Guitar related gear to be inspected and played.
The £6 entry to the show includes:
-
The two large exhibition halls with all the dealers and manufacturers.
-
The main theatre with live acts throughout the day.
-
The 'Widdle room' where you can plug in and play with guitar and
headphones.
-
Demo/Clinic room where you can meet listen and put questions to the players.
-
Listening to Guitar Players in the restaurant area throughout the day.
-
Entry into Prize Draw to win an Electric Guitar. (possible other prizes
There are also Guitar Workshops (fee: £25) with 'Guitar
Weekend' tutors, Rod Sinclair (blues), Jim Hornsby (Country & Folk), Gary Dunn
(strugglers all
styles) and Richard Tordoff (Rock).
On the main stage this year there are regulars, Chris George Band (Marshall),
Ken
Nicol (Fylde), Eddie Allen and Tony Foad (we hope Mick Sweeney as well), Plus
Hayden
Hewitt (Patrick Eggle guitars), Rock Maestro Pete Kassell (Laney Amps)
and
Dougie McClellan (Fender). Special guest on Monday is one of this country's,
favourite guitarists at the moment, Clive Carroll. He will be giving a workshop
during the day and playing on stage in the afternoon at 2.30pm.
The show is at Rheged for the third year running, with improved car parking and
a
regular bus service from Penrith Rail station. This makes it very easy to get to
either by car or public transport. As well as the Guitar Show there are many
other things to do at Rheged of interest to all the family.
