Main Stage Licence Granted
12th May 2005
At 1035am today 12th may 2005 the Isle of Man Licencing Court granted a licence
to Manx Taverns Ltd (the owners of the Bridge Inn, Laxey) to run a bar in the
Blues Marquee, Laxey Station. This also permits music and dancing so, let the
good times roll...
The Festival is pleased to acknowledge the huge amount of help offered by
Bushys' Martin Brunnschweiller, Derek Black-Kay of the Bridge Inn, The Laxey
Commissioners, the Police and last minute suppliers of the stage; Absolute
Scaffolding and the Village Workshop.
Chris Lefevre who organises the Festival said outside the court that he was
"very pleased, absolutely delighted and not a little relieved that the licence
had been granted so close to the Festival. After we had been left high and dry
when the previous venue for the Main Stage had had it's licence revoked it
looked doubtful for a while whether there would even be a Main Stage in 2005.
But then the real friends of the Fest came into bat and here we are just 36

hours away from the start of Festival weekend and everything is right back on
schedule - it's great".
As you can see from the photograph the Marquee is now up, the stage is in and
even the "luxury portaloos" are on site!
